Rally for Afghan Journalist

Project Nur led a rally on outside the Afghan Embassy on February 15, 2008, calling for the release from death row of journalism student Sayed P. Kaambakhsh - who faces the death penaly for distributing an article on women's rights. The rally was covered by CNN, NPR, and the George Mason University Broadside.

Project Nur National Student Leadership Conference
April 4-6th, 2008
Washington, D.C.

As part of the Project Nur initiative, the first national student leadership conference will take place on April 4-6th, 2008. The conference will bring together engaged and active students from different campuses across the United States to learn pro-active methods to lead actions and campaigns on their own campuses through workshops and presentations from international NGO’s and leaders in human rights. The conference will emphasize the values of unity, co-existence, reflection and non-violence as necessary qualities for responsible leadership on college campuses.

How to Apply
Please send your resume and 500-word essay on why you would like to participate in the conference and how it will benefit you.

All expenses will be paid for by Project Nur. This includes travel, lodging and meals.
