Caravan: A Journey to Eastern Culture

Date: Saturday, February 21, 2009

Synopsis: The PN chapter at Boston University and Claiming Our World hosted a cultural festival showcasing 20 different Muslim countries, each represented by its respective embassy or local communities. Countries such as Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestine, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Turkey participated. Each country illustrated the colors of its culture through its unique clothing, exotic cuisine, fascinating history, mysterious artifacts and catchy music. The festival also had special performances by a Palestinian poet and a Dabke (traditional Arab dance) group.
