Reverse Trick-or-Treating

Date: Friday, October 31, 2008

Synopsis: The PN chapters at the Universities of George Washington, Georgetown, American, George Mason, and Maryland-College Park ventured out together around the Dupont area of Washington, DC on Halloween night for “Reverse Trick-or-Treating.”

See the Global Exchange site to learn about what it means to go “Reverse Trick-or-Treating.”

Joining in on this interesting twist to Halloween with youth activists throughout the US and Canada, PN members distributed fair trade chocolates with informational cards for the purpose of educating their community about the poverty that exists in cocoa farming communities and forced/abusive child labor practices happening in the cocoa industry.

PN chapters at Northeastern and Sacred Heart Universities also participated in “Reverse Trick-or-Treating” in their respective communities in the Boston and Connecticut areas.
