Africa Week: Human Rights Dinner

Date: Tuesday, October 21, 2008

Synopsis: The PN chapter at the University of Pennsylvania (“UPenn”) co-hosted a dinner with UPenn Amnesty International to raise awareness and engender dialogue about various health care and poverty issues in Africa: Kenya, Zimbabwe, Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad, Ivory Coast, and Nigeria. Student leaders from Penn AIDS Awareness, the Society for International Development, and the International Affairs Association spoke at the event. The dinner was part of a week-long initiative aimed at elucidating human rights violations occurring in Africa.
