Synopsis: PN National and the University of Pennsylvania’s (“UPenn”) Amnesty International chapter held an iftar centered on the situation in Darfur, how things have changed there recently, and what students can do to help end the crisis and aid the region’s recovery. Speakers featured Dr. Ali-Dinar, a native of Darfur and Associate Director of UPenn’s African Studies Center, and Grant Dubler, a sophomore at UPenn who founded a grass roots organization called For Darfur Inc. that works to create awareness about the conflict and raise funds to help the people suffering in Darfur.
Here is UPenn’s own Daily Pennsylvanian’s coverage of this event!
