NOT IN OUR NAME!
UNITED AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

First Annual Interfaith-Based Domestic Violence Awareness Event

Coming together to combat a problem that plagues societies across racial, ethnic & gender boundaries

RibbonFriday, March 28, 2008
6:30pm - 9:00pm

American University
Ward Circle Building – Ward 1
4400 Massachusetts Ave, NW, Washington, DC

Although this is an interfaith initiative, the event aims to address Domestic Violence as a humanitarian issue and denounces it from a humanitarian standpoint, not specific to any religion or cultural group, rather collectively as people of faith, in collaboration with humanitarian and DV organizations.

JOIN US to highlight intercultural and interfaith efforts to bring an end to this social problem that transcends racial, ethnic, class and gender boundaries.

We will hear briefly from representatives of the Muslim, Jewish and Christian communities who will share different faith and cultural perspectives in a united denunciation of Domestic Violence, acknowledging its existence in their respective community and others.

POETRY SLAM: experience the poetry slam through creative and artistic exploration of words of victims and survivors.
