Rambax Senegalese Ensemble's Griot Festival

Synopsis: AIC and PN National was a sponsor of the Rambax Senegalese Ensemble's Griot Festival. Rambax, MIT's Senegalese drumming ensemble, presented a celebration of the musical traditions of Griots from Africa and the Diaspora. This local troupe, led by Lamine Tour and Professor Patricia Tang, were joined in a rare Boston performance by special guests from Senegal, the Mbaye Family Drum Troupe, to present traditional Senegalese dance music from indigenous masters.
