Peace Vigil for Afghan Journalist on Death Row

Date: Friday, February 15, 2008

Sayed Parwez Kaambaskh, a 23-year-old student journalist, was sentenced to death for distributing an article on women’s rights to his journalism class at the University of Balkh in Afghanistan. He was tried by a three-judge panel without legal representation and now faces death simply for distributing a piece of paper.

WE need to stand up with Sayed to support freedom of the press and open debate!

WE need to demand the RELEASE of Sayed!

TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD!
