Muslim Film Festival-Coming Soon!
Muslim Film Festival: Reel Life: "Keeping Up with the Muslims" explores the diversity of Muslim experience through gender, faith, and conflict. A series of films will examine faith and identity within conservative, multicultural, and pluralistic societies. This fall’s festival aims to engage the general public through free screenings and discussions with local filmmakers and expert presenters.
The festival launches on October 22nd at Boston University and will run through November at area universities, including Harvard, Northeastern, and Emmanuel College.
On November 10th, the festival is launched in Washington, DC. Stay tuned for screenings in Washington, DC.
Past Events:
Iran Flash Mobs
In support of Iranian election protesters, Project Nur leaders organized flash mobs in the District of Columbia and New York City. A flash mob is an electronically-organized event that creates the appearance of a seemingly random gathering of people. Participants gather and perform an unusual action for a brief moment, then quickly disperse. The impact and the creativity of the protests generated media attention and brought together various Muslim voices in support of freedom and fair elections in Iran.
Help End Boston’s Hunger Iftar
On September 10, 2009 Project Nur and the American Islamic Congress organized a successful Iftar to alleviate the pangs of hunger in the Greater Boston Area. In the spirit of the fasting month of Ramadan, the Iftar attendees donated hundreds of non-perishable food items.
